Glass Repair Brisbane

Glass Repair Brisbane

A broken window can be a safety hazard for kids, pets and burglars. It’s important to get it repaired as soon as possible.

Your Tasker will start by assessing the damage. If it’s too severe, they will recommend a glass replacement. If not, they can use clear nail-polish to patch up small holes and scratches.

Repairs

Glass scratches can be unsightly and distract from the appearance of a table, frame, or decorative item. They can also be a safety hazard for children and pets, exposing them to potential injury. Your Tasker can repair these scratches by applying a stabiliser and injecting epoxy resin into the cracks.

A broken window or door panel can be a security risk, allowing burglars and other pests into your home. Your Tasker will wear heavy duty gloves before using a tool to loosen the seal around the window pane and remove it (including any shards). They will then use putty to fill in the hole, leaving a 3.2mm gap at the edges. They will then apply more putty and smooth it down to seal the gap, and finally replace the new window pane in the frame. The whole process takes around 40 minutes. They will then clean up the shards, ensuring your home is safe for small children and pets.

Replacements

If your broken window or glass door panel is beyond repair or has shattered, it will need to be replaced immediately. This is important as a broken glass door or window can provide easy access to burglars and other unwanted intruders as well as pests like rats, snakes, spiders and more.

Your Tasker will carefully clean away any shards before loosening the putty and sealant on the frame of your broken window, then remove the old window pane and dispose of it. They will then measure the frame for the new window pane, cut it to size and place it in the frame, with a small 3.2mm gap around the edges for expansion and flexibility.

Over time, your mirrors can develop unsightly cracks and scratches that are a nuisance to your home’s aesthetics. Fortunately, this can be easily repaired by your Tasker, who will apply a stabiliser and inject epoxy resin into the cracks to fix them.

Insurance claims

Glass insurance covers your internal or external glass when it gets damaged through accidents, vandalism, and natural disasters. Some home insurance policies, commercial insurance and even car insurance cover glass damage but you should check the PDS statement to find out more about what is covered.

If your windows or mirrors are cracked, chipped or broken, a Tasker can come and fix them to make them look like new. They will use a variety of materials including epoxy and resin.

Generally, insurance claims for auto glass are handled under your comprehensive physical damage coverage. However, some insurance companies only offer liability coverage which will not pay for any repair or replacement costs to your window. Tim lodged an insurance claim after a large hail storm destroyed his roof, fencing, deck, trampoline and barbecue. He was able to have all these fixed and paid for by his insurer because he had comprehensive insurance. He had to pay the insurance deductible first though.

Safety

Dave is a highly qualified glazier and pays close attention to detail on every installation and repair job. This means you can expect a great finish on your glass and a thorough cleaning of the area once the work is complete.

A cracked window or door pane left unattended is an enticing target for thieves and burglars as well as pests like spiders, snakes, rodents, and mosquitos. This is why it’s best to get it fixed as soon as you can so that the damage doesn’t worsen and become a safety risk.

Your Tasker can use a variety of materials to fix shattered glass, including re-glazing or replacing the existing pane with new annealed safety glass. Laminated glass is also available and this is much sturdier than standard glass as it contains an inner film that holds the shards together instead of scattering across the ground in a dangerous spider web pattern. This type of glass is often preferred for doors and windows to prevent harm from shards if they break.
